Description

On October 31, 2025, SURFdrive will be migrated from ownCloud to Nextcloud to improve scalability, security, and overall performance. - Impact: SURFdrive will be completely inaccessible during the migration. Downtime may last from several hours up to a few days. Service is expected to be fully restored by November 3, 2025. - Data: Your files will remain intact, but you will need to reconfigure connections (e.g., Desktop Client or WebDAV) once the migration is complete. - Changes: The interface will look slightly different, some features will move, and “custom groups” will be renamed to Teams with new sharing options. If you need access to files during the maintenance period, save local copies before October 31. Instructions for reconnecting clients will be provided ahead of the migration window via Nikhef-wide email and the knowledge base.
